House Hunting

It has been a non stop week of house hunting! We went from old Brittish homes to new American style British homes. I have fallen in love with the old British homes, however, was quickly brought back down to the reality that they are just not practical. After searching and sifting through home after home, Logan and I were finally able to agree and narrow it down to THE ONE. It is a really nice American style home and over here it is quite large. The back garden (basically just a yard, but yards are called gardens over here) is very large which was a huge surprise, since most are very very small. It is with in walking distance to base. This photo really doesn't do it any justice. On the back of the house is a conservatory and a patio. It also has a 2 car garage which is also something that you don't see very often. I will post more photos of the inside later. It has a lot of character.

So here are some of the British terms used in homes:

American English         British English
Yard                             Garden
Bathroom                      Toilet/Loo
Closet                             Cloakroom
Tank (on a toilet)             Water Closet
Master Bathroom                    En Suite
